The Zone awaits and the artifact call!
Will you answer it?
Welcome to STALKER, the sci-fi roleplaying game based on the
acclaimed novel Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky
and the eponymous film by Andrei Tarkovsky.
Here, you are not a hero, you're a survivor.
An outlaw who risks it all in the Visitation Zones,
areas where reality went mad and death lurks in every shadow.
The Scenario
Thirteen years ago, something came from space. Or another dimension. Or maybe it was just a cosmic picnic, with travelers who stopped, left their trash behind, and moved on. What matters is that six Zones emerged along the 43rd parallel, and inside them, the laws of nature were torn apart.
Anomalies that crush, burn, freeze, or simply erase you from existence.
Artifacts that defy physics: endless batteries, healing stones, devices that kill with a flash of green light.
Inorganisms and creatures neither alive nor dead, made of metal, fire, or pure darkness.
Mutants originated out of animals (and humans) twisted by the Zone, hunting out of pure hunger or madness.
The Protagonists
Stalkers are adventurers, smugglers, and outcasts who illegally enter the Zones to recover Artifacts. They sell to governments, corporations, ambitious scientists, or the highest bidder. Some seek fortune. Others seek truth. Many just seek the adrenaline of defying the impossible.
What do you need to survive?
Courage to face the unknown.
Wit to outsmart patrols and bureaucrats.
Instinct to feel when the air shimmers before an anomaly strikes.
And luck... lots of luck.
